Giving system builders a little breathing room, Microsoft has decided to bend the already extended deadline for the availability of the OEM versions of Windows XP. While Microsoft will still be taking orders for Windows XP only until January 31st, 2009, it will ship said orders until May 30th (2009), thus enabling manufacturers to avoid overstocking the seven year old operating system.
Through the new offer, OEMs will provide Microsoft with an estimate of their demand for Windows XP licenses by the end of the year and get their orders in stages, until May 30th. This move will almost close the gap to the release of Windows 7 which, if the more recent signs are true, will be sometime in the second half of 2009, maybe as soon as summer.
Tóm tắt thì microsoft sẽ vẫn tiếp tục cung cấp bản Windows Xp bản quyền OEMs, ít nhất là sau khi Windows 7 chính thức ra mắt
